Do you boast of a “dedicated and personalized” schedule? Do you set aside time for yourself to do things you enjoy and relax? Do you consciously make an effort to take care of your physical and mental well-being? Helplessness, anxiety and panic, among other emotions, are typical these days, making us forget to reflect on our needs and take care of ourselves. Self-care for maintaining well-being is important and it directly influences how we live our lives, how we feel, and how we plan for the future. It is precisely in these times that we imperatively invest in our well-being for multifold gains in future.
With this in mind, in this week's Focus Group Session, we’ll spend time identifying what aspects of our lives affect our well-being, talk about ways to manage them better and build personalized self-care routines!
This is a safe space for you to share you mental health concerns/experiences with others facing similar circumstances and extend and receive support from one another under the guidance of a trained facilitator who would be moderating activities and discussions for self-reflection.
Going through a mental health challenge can make you feel isolated and afraid, among many other things. I remember feeling this way when I was in a difficult place, and that's when I signed up for a buddy circle at HiO. Although I was scared at first, that changed to relief and a sense of hope. The buddy circle reminded me that I'm not completely alone in my journey; help and company is always an arm's reach away :')
Buddy Circle serves exactly what it promises! I remember being a little nervous about my first session, but as you see people open up one by one and you relate with other's struggles, it feels like you're a part of a community, and you can really understand each other. What I liked about the buddy circle was that it always provides us with a learning strategy, something to take back and implement in your everyday life.
